MEMBERS ACTIVITIES
Wednesday Working Party
Members meet every Wednesday morning to maintain the site. Help is always required from gardening, painting, general maintenance as well as a continuous repair programme for the track. Come along and help and enjoy the companionship and friendly banter!
If you are interested in Model Engineering then why not become a member of the Kinver & West Midlands Society of Model Engineers
Friday Evenings / Sunday Mornings
Members meet on Friday evenings and Sunday Mornings to socialise and discuss all things model engineering - during the winter months occasional talks have been arranged on model engineering topics.
Boiler testing is usually undertaken on Sundays.
Public Running
Our members run steam engines and diesel (electric) engines every Sunday - from 1st Sunday in April to end of October - to haul passenger trains for the public. Not only can you enjoy a lovely train ride in some beautiful countryside but also you are welcome to use our picnic area. The Whistle Stop also serves refreshments and snacks.
You can find all the details at our dedicated website Kinver Miniature Railway.
Special Events
From time to time Kinver members organise special events including our very popular Ghost Train event for the local community at Halloween (COVID Permitting).
Other events have included open days, diesel days, exhibitions, locomotive efficiency competition for members (KINLEC) as well as 24 hour sponsored runs in aid of charity.
Children's Parties
Our facilities are available for children's parties, usually on Saturdays. Parents have use of the club house and grounds and of course members run the trains for them.
Full details can be found at our Kinver Miniature Railway site.
Visitors Welcome
Visitors from other societies are always welcome to use our track provided they can show a valid boiler certificate (where appropriate), insurance certificate and sponsorship by a member.
