Membership

Whilst the main interest of the society is railway locomotives (steam and electric), members interests encompass Model Engineering in its broadest definition including traction engines, boats, stationary engines and workshop equipment.

An interest in model engineering and a willingness to participate in activities of the Society are the only requirements for membership.

As a member you have access to our track 24/7 as well as use of the technical publications library and the wealth of knowledge of the members. Membership also includes free annual boiler testing as required for all steam powered models and cover by the Club's insurance.

Training on driving a steam locomotive is available.

Prospective members are welcome to visit the Society during one of our activities.

If you are keen to develop your interest in Model Engineering, whether building from scratch, building a kit or simply maintaining a purchased model, the members are always encouraging and happy to help with advice and hands on assistance.
